Lose Weight Biography

Source(Google.com.pk)
this touching, funny, and sincere story, Jennette Fulda, who was once 372 pounds, recounts her lifelong struggle with her weight- first accepting it, then losing half of it." -- Shape Magazine, August 2008

Blogger Fulda explains how she lost 186 pounds. In January 2005, she weighed twice that. A year earlier, after having her gallbladder removed at the age of 23, she'd realized her weight was threatening her life and vowed to get into shape. "Only I didn't," she writes. "I stayed fat for at least another year. Wake up call received. Snooze button pushed." Fulda did eventually take control, changing her eating habits and taking up exercise: first walking, then jogging, then a combination of jogging, pilates and weight training. She started a blog, "Half of Me," to chronicle her progress. As of February 2007, she had lost half her body weight; in the final chapter, she writes that she's within 15 pounds of her goal weight (160 pounds) but warns, "I may have lost the weight, but it could still find me again." Fulda provides a fair amount of weight-loss information only the diet-and-fitness-obsessed could really love, but the book is redeemed by the engaging account of her personal history interwoven throughout. In a conversational and honest voice, she describes tackling the age-old paradox of trying to accept herself while also trying to change. This dialectical process caused her to run afoul of online "fat acceptance" communities, which work to decrease the marginalization of the overweight and the obese. "If I really accepted myself as I was, it meant I'd recognized who I was to the best of my ability, flaws and all," writes Fulda. "It didn't mean I was necessarily satisfied with all the materials that made the house of me." A winsome, charming memoir of personal discovery. -- Kirkus Reviews, Feb. 15, 2008

Following Indianapolis-based blogger Jennette Fulda's journey to lose almost two-thirds of herself is so inspiring you'll fill your cart with nothing but turkey cutlets and cruciferous vegetables for weeks. At age 24, she weighed 372 pounds. "The truth is," she writes, "I was a big, fat cliche." Despite some emotionally heavy moments, Fulda's biting humor and no-holds-barred honestly keep you turning the pages. -- Women's Health, July 20de a similar statement

5.0 out of 5 stars Dog Ears Throughout! August 8, 2010

I can always tell how much I like a book by how fast I read it, and how much I abuse it. I received this book, and within 24hours I was turning the last page. Hours would slip by as I was reading Jeannette's witty, charming and honest portrayal of the weight loss journey. Other reviewers have pointed out that is wasn't 'inspirational' to them, or they couldn't relate - or she didn't give enough advice for them - but for me none of that was an issue.

I am a 29yo man who has had (and continues to have) a battle with weight similar to Jeanette's. It was so nice and refreshing to have someone say all of the things in my brain without me having to say them. She had me in stitches when she said she couldn't just throw all of her junk food out, and needed to start a 'bundt cake relocation program'. I also liked how a topic she came back to a few times was that as a heavier woman she always felt that skinny people were judging her, and when she lost the weight she felt that heavier people were judging her - dealing with our fear of other's judgement. Another topic that I could really relate to was when she talked about the 'FA' (Fat acceptance) clubs throwing her out cause she wanted to lose weight to be healthy.

No matter what Jeanette is writing about, she does it with a dry wit that can't help but make you laugh. If you are looking for a how to book, or a quick fix - this ultimately isn't for you - but if you are looking to comiserate about the internal struggle with weight loss, then pull up a bowl of sugar free Jell-o and crack the spine.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books I've ever read November 16, 2010
By James F. Rendek
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
One of the best books I have ever read. Every paragraph is loaded with humor and insight well beyond the typical diet book/memoir. I frequently wondered how the author could possibly organize her thought so well and express them so clearly. Technically this is not a how to book but you will learn more here than you will in most diet books and be well entertained. I lost over 200 pounds and eventually gained back half and I am now reapplying myself. I have been there so I can truly appreciate her work and her prose. My best advice is to read Atkins and read this book while you're on you're "weigh".

-Jim Rendekat’s what.

And I don’t BLAME you. Why would you ever continue to sacrifice without being rewarded?

I wouldn’t, and you shouldn’t.

So take a good hard look at what you’re doing and think about this: What’s fueling your workouts? What’s fueling your desire to eat healthy and consume fewer calories?

If results aren’t your fuel, you’re going to give up and quit…sooner rather than later. Proof? Let your car run out of fuel and see what happens.

That’s right, it doesn’t go.

The one solitary thing that fuels your desire to “stay on the wagon” is results. And that’s what this blog post is here for: to give you strategies and information that actually work, so you can continue moving forward toward your goals, without wasting your time.

Now, one of the most important things you can do to ensure your “diet” isn’t wasting your time is to learn exactly how to control your body’s fat-burning hormones with food. Fortunately, I show you exactly how to do this in 3 easy steps right here:

==> How to control your fat-burning hormones with FOOD

I have asthma ,arthritis, hemochromatosis and it all lowers my metabolism I think. I am constantly trying to lose weight. I have lost and gained 170+ pounds in the last 10 yrs. I do all the right things but weight still haunts me. I been work out since I am 17 yrs old. I eat healthy, basically the zone diet . I lift weights, walk, yoga’ . Oh rt I have bulging discs in my neck and lower back problems . I love to keep the weight off and not always worry that weight will disable me with my other health problems .

Hi Annette,

I hope this finds you doing well! Thanks so much for stopping by. We appreciate you sharing your story with us, as well as the opportunity to help you in your health and fitness journey.

We are very sorry to hear about the conditions you presently face. With that being said, I do want to remind you that our products are not intended to treat, cure, or prevent any diseases. Because we are neither doctors nor do we know your entire health history, we recommend discussing any specific medical-related questions with your healthcare professional. If you are taking any prescription medications, please do not adjust them without proper approval.

That said, I’d be interested to learn a bit more about your weight loss journey. You mentioned that you’ve lost and gained over 170 pounds in the last 10 years. Were there specific changes in habits that led to the weight regain? It sounds like you found a plan that was effective for weight loss, however, you’ve had trouble keeping it off. Is that correct? Or, do you attribute the weight gain to specific life events, medical conditions, medications, etc.? In the case of the former, there may be some habit-forming activities that we need to address/reinforce to ensure that you keep the weight off.

It does sound like there’s an awful lot of inflammation going on. Have you discussed the prospects of taking Omega-3 fatty acids and probiotics with your physician. In the case of the former, Omega-3 fatty acids are inherently anti-inflammatory, as they lead to the production of hormone-like substances that promote anti-inflammatory effects, blood vessel dilation, anti-coagulant effects, a decrease in pain, and much more.

Probiotics are also anti-inflammatory in nature, as they help produce anti-inflammatory chemicals (i.e., cytokines) and down-regulate pro-inflammatory cytokines. By doing so, they are intricately tied to immune system function. As a matter of fact, the gut is home to approximately 80% of the immune system, and properly populating the gut with probiotics is key to immune system function—not to mention overall and digestive health, mental well being, metabolism, and more.

I hope this information is helpful, Annette. You may also consider stopping by our Online Coaching Community for additional assistance.

Hi,

Do you realize that it doesn’t say anywhere on your site how many capsules or tablets of IC-5 are in each bottle? (Or if it’s there, it’s well hidden.) One cannot read the label on the bottle from the pictures of it you have.

A lot of people are suspicious about possible fraud, so it would behoove you to be absolutely clear about everything. For all a customer knows, a $69 bottle could contain 2 capsules and last less than one day.

Hi Robert,

Thank you so much for reaching out to us and for offering us the opportunity to help you. It is truly our privilege to be your resource for honest nutrition and health information.

You can access the entire label of IC-5 on its product page. There, you’ll find that there are 120 capsules per bottle, or 60 (2-capsule) servings.

I hope this helps! Please be sure to let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist.

Thank you so much for reaching out to us and for offering us the opportunity to help. It is truly our privilege to be your resource for honest nutrition and health information. I believe that you’ll find the information in the following thread (on the BioTrust Community Forums) to be very helpful in this instance:

http://www.biotrustboard.com/showthread.php?35139-Going-to-start-One-Day-Diet-but

My suggestion would be to eat after your workout and to adjust your preceding schedule accordingly. You’ll see that you could either expand your feeding window to 8 hours, or you could move your 6-hour feeding window to a later start (e.g., 1pm) to reflect the later dinner time.

I hope this helps!

Hi there, thanks for the info, also besides my kickboxing twice a week I wake up at 4am and workout at home as well, how would I work the one day diet or could I just take a recovery drink after my morning workout.
Thanks so much, Lisa

Tim Skwiat
Hi Lisa,

This is another great question. We’ve actually tackled something similar on the Forums, and I’d encourage you to review this thread:

http://www.biotrustboard.com/showthread.php?37037-Morning-workout

Overall, for morning workouts, I think the two best options are:

1. to move your feeding window to begin immediately after your workout; or

2. to use BC
I really want to try your shakes. A few months back I saw something that I think was called the 24 hr diet. I wanted to try it. I really need to lose weight for an event-like about 20lbs, so I am wondering how to go about starting this diet. I just want to plan accordingly to be successful!

Thanksnting to include us into your preparation for your event with our all-natural line of premium scientifically-backed products.

We do offer a diet named the One Day Diet which I believe you are referring to and I will send the cheat sheets to this diet to your email. It requires the use of our BioTrust Low Carb Protein http://www.biotrust.com/Shop.asp?p=LowCarb
Using this high protein diet will assist with fat burning and help build more calorie-burning lean muscle mass.

But I want to also suggest two other products to assist in your 20lb weight reduction goal.

First, LeptiBurn, it will help overcome weight loss plateau’s and ensure rapid, consistent fat loss during dieting. What’s more, keeping Leptin levels high during dieting will also ensure the body will burn fat, not muscle.

http://www.biotrust.com/Shop.asp?p=LeptiBurn

Second, BCAA Matrix, research-proven to help maintain muscle mass and strength while dieting; also shown to specifically target belly fat.

http://www.biotrust.com/Shop.asp?p=BCAA

Also I would highly encourage you to add resistance training into your regimen to help with your results. Here is a great article to reference.

Last add in, please check into our forum you will find tips and further help answering any questions you may have along your journey. It is an excellent place to get connected with other’s in the BioTrust community.

Thanks so much for reaching out to us and for offering us the opportunity to help you in your weight loss efforts. Congratulations on your weight loss so far! I know it may not seem like much, but you are definitely on the right track.

Several LeptiBurn users have reported more dramatic weight loss beginning in the second and third months. Keep up the great work and keep supplementing as directed. If you are interested in adding another supplement to your arsenal, you may consider looking into IC-5, which will accelerate your fat loss via a different angle than LeptiBurn.

Great job on getting started with your exercise program! I would encourage you to add some resistance training to your current program. Specifically, I would recommend that you read the following article:

http://www.biotrustboard.com/showthread.php?39-Critical-Elements-of-Fat-Loss-Training-%28Article%29

Without knowing any details about your diet, I would suggest that you make sure that you’re consuming an adequate amount of protein. Specifically, this study shows that the minimum amount of protein needed to preserve calorie-burning muscle mass and your metabolic rate while dieting is 1.2 grams per kilogram of bodyweight per day:

BioTrust Low Carb is a great-tasting, convenient way to boost your protein intake, which increases your metabolism and satiety.

I hope this helps, Ernie. Keep up the great work!

Hi,

I am happy that i got to know your products.
I just started LeptiBurn 3 days ago and i will do my best on this diet plan.
I’ve had some special issue over a year.

A year ago, I tried HCG diet and lost 13 lbs, maintained within 5 lbs. for a few months and i regained more than 20 lbs over 8 months.
(before HCG I was 113 lbs/after HCG-100 lbs/now- 123 lbs and still keep gaining.- so frustrated)

I think maybe… i set up my body as “starvation mode” to maintain the body weight during & after HCG? I understand my body need time to adjust since i started eating properly to break the starvation mode but i dont understand why i am still gaining weight over 8~9 months?

Trust me, I ALWAYS eat healthy (like low carb day as you suggest for leptiburn diet plan) and hit the gym 5 times for a week.

Even under this situation, LeptiBurn diet works out to me, you think?

Please advice me.
Adding IC-5 will be more efficient?
I try to be positive and do my best.
This is only Hope to me now.

Thank you.

Hi JY,

Thank you so much for sharing some of your story with us and for allowing us to accompany you on your body transformation journey. It is truly our privilege to be your resource for honest nutrition and health information.

Coach Josh has previously written about the dangers of the HCG Diet here:

The HCG Diet… 3 Reasons Why You Should NOT Try It (No Matter What)

In our opinion, this is neither a healthy nor long-term approach to weight loss, weight maintenance, or optimal vitality. As you’ve suggested, it’s highly viable for your body’s hormones to shift into what’s colloquially termed “starvation mode.”

The hormone leptin is the metabolic master switch behind this physiological adaptation. You have certainly made a wise decision in investing in LeptiBurn to help you once again regulate your metabolism, your fat-burning capabilities, and your appetite.

Knowing that you’ve followed such a low-calorie diet for such a long time and have exercised on a regular basis, my suggestion is going to be to gradually increase your caloric intake while simultaneously attempting to increase the intensity of your exercise sessions. At this point, it will be difficult to increase the amount of time and/or days you’re exercising, but you can certainly increase the volume of your sessions by trying to do more in the same amount of time. Metabolic resistance training is a great way to do this.

As I mentioned, systematically increasing your caloric intake will help to reset your metabolism. I understand this can be scary, as one would naturally fear gaining weight. However, if you increase your energy intake via whole, minimally processed foods, like lean proteins, veggies, fruits, beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, and whole grains, you’ll be just fine. Primarily, I would encourage you to increase your protein intake. Protein has a very high thermic effect, which means that your body has to burn a significant amount of energy just to process. This results in an increased metabolism. Increasing your veggie intake can result in a similar metabolic boost.

BioTrust Low Carb, BioTrust Protein Cookies, and BioTrust Organic Protein Bars are all incredibly delicious and convenient ways to ramp up your protein intake.

I hope this helps, JY. Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much for the advice, Tim.

I have been on the 3rd week of Lepti-burn diet plan(still low carb diet) and I haven’t seen any results yet so I just purchased IC-5 to add on. (Maybe my body needs more time. I will continue this plan for 2 more months.)

By the way, the instructions on the IC-5 bottle say,
“Take 2 capsules prior to any carb containing meal. If on a low-carb diet, take 2 capsules twice daily prior to meals.”
So I should 2 caps twice on the Low Carb days/ Low GI,GL days/ Higher GI GL days AND CHEAT days- like consistently everyday until my Lepti-Burn diet plan ends?
please advice me again.

Thank you.
JY

Tim Skwiat
Hi JY,

It’s great to hear from you! I appreciate your patience with the process, as you know your body as well as anyone. :) Hang in there, be consistent, and keep up the great work!

On your Low Carb days, you’re going to take two IC-5 capsules twice daily. You can take one dose in the morning and one dose in the evening (15 minutes before eating).

On your Low GI/GL, High GI/GL, and Cheat Days, take two IC-5 capsules 15 minutes before all carbohydrate-containing meals (up to three doses per day). On these days, you may be consuming carbs at every meal. I would take IC-5 before your highest carb-containing meals.

Also, JY, I encourage you to check out our new BioTrust Community Forums. It’s a great place to get free coaching help and the support of your peers:

Thanks so much for reaching out to us and for offering us the opportunity to help. I am sorry to hear about your frustrations and your lack of results.

I highly encourage you to visit our Online Community where you can get additional coaching help. You can also interact with other folks who are on their own body transformation journeys as well.

Can you tell us any more specifics about your diet? Which approach did you use in the Core Phase? Can you please give us specific samples of your nutritional intake (e.g., food choices, amounts, time, etc.)?

What is your body weight? What is your body fat percentage? Did you take girth measurements? Did you take progress photos? Can you tell us more about yourself?

What kind of exercise are you doing? How long have you been following that routine?

What kind of nutrition plan were you following prior to starting the Fat Burning Hormone Diet?

With some additional information, we’ll be best be able to assist you moving forward, JY. Hang in there! I do think that the Forums will be a better platform to discuss this than here.

I just wanted to say…THANK YOU for developing the product Lepti-Burn. I have been trying to loose weight for the past 5 years since having 2 babies. Let me tell you my life of “CLICHE”. I have tried EVERYTHING I could get my hands on. Trainers, saunas at the gym with advice from trainers, nutrisystem, Atkins, Hydroxycut, pills, this, that. Only to get stomped further back from loosing even a single pound. That’s right. 1 SINGLE pound…for 5 years!! I eat organic, I eat veggies and good meats, I don’t eat bread and the like, I don’t drink anything but water and almond milk. I still did NOT loose weight. Then I found Bio-Trust. I ordered a bottle of Lepti-Burn. I was SOOOO skeptical because of my past. I thought this was just going to go down in my list of failures. I took it for two weeks without weighing myself. When I get on the scale and I very nearly had heart failure from shock. I had lost 7.5 pounds. I thought, well maybe it’s just the scale, another week goes by and I weigh again. I almost cry because I had lost another 4 pounds. Now, it’s been two months and I have lost a total of 20 pounds. THANK YOU!!! I now have hope that I will loose the weight I need to. It’s not just me. My husband is noticing, my family is noticing. MY PANTS ARE FALLING OFF MY HIPS!!! I am soo happy that I found BioTrust and I am recommending you to EVERYONE who needs help with weight loss and nutrition. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!

Hi Lauren,

First of all, congratulations on your amazing weight loss and body transformation success! Secondly, thank you so much for sharing your personal success story with everyone.

Your passion and excitement are clearly evident in your post, and we sincerely appreciate you sharing such positive sentiment with everyone.

20 pounds lost in two months is nothing short of incredible — all with changing nothing else in your diet or exercise. Great job, Lauren! Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you for starting our fat burning hormone support supplement, LeptiBurn.

To get long-lasting, true results, nutrition is going to be the most important aspect in your health journey. I know it is a cliche but it is true, “You are what you eat.” Exercise is going to be a component that is going to help reinforce those results.

Think of it like this: A one-ingredient, clean, and minimally-processed diet is going to make your body even more sensitive to the effects of LeptiBurn and overall fat burning. Then, exercise will improve your body’s performance for Rugby and also aid in your body’s fat burning venture. LeptiBurn will optimize your body’s metabolic master switch, leptin, which will increase your metabolism and fat-burning capabilities. This all equates to accelerated fat loss and avoiding frustrating plateaus.

Two other factors that will help and need to be incorporated for long lasting results are going to be recovery, or rest, and support from your family and community.

I want to send one of our diet reports, “The 7 Day Rapid Fat Loss Diet.” Please expect this in your email. It will be a great guideline program to aid in your diet with the LeptiBurn.
